TEI Brakes Limited Warranty

Every TEI brake kit is pressure-tested in pairs before it leaves our facility, and every rotor is checked for runout after the bell is assembled. If something still isn't right, this warranty covers it.

Coverage periods

Component Warranty period
Calipers (body, pistons, seals) 3 years
Brake discs / rotors — steel 180 days (deformation only)
Brake pads 1 year
Carbon-ceramic discs 1 year (covers vibration and coating delamination)
Stainless steel brake lines 1 year
Electric Parking Brake (EPB) motor 1 year (short circuit or cracking)
Bells, brackets, and wheel spacers 1 year

Warranty periods run from the ship (delivery) date — not the purchase date.

Warranty service is keyed to your product set serial number and VIN. The warranty certificate (D1) in the delivery dossier shipped with your kit is the sole warranty document — keep it safe and present it when making a claim. Products without a valid serial number, or with an altered serial number, are not eligible for warranty service.

What the warranty covers

Defects in materials and workmanship under normal road use, including:

  • Calipers — internal seal failure, piston binding or sticking not caused by road-salt corrosion
  • Steel discs — deformation only
  • Carbon-ceramic discs — vibration and silicon-carbide coating delamination
  • Brake pads — delamination of the friction material from the backing plate
  • EPB motor — short circuit or cracking
  • Brake lines — cracking, delamination, or leakage under normal service

Approved claims are resolved by free replacement of the affected part.

Authorized installer workmanship

Kits installed by an authorized TEi installer carry a 1-year workmanship warranty on the installation, provided by that installer. Problems caused by improper installation are the installer's direct responsibility — TEi can assist with communication, but assumes no final liability.

What the warranty does not cover

  • Normal wear, aging, judder, noise, hot spots, and abnormal wear — pads, discs, and fluid are consumable items
  • Track use, competition, autocross, drag racing, or other extreme-use / high-performance driving
  • Thermal damage from continuous heavy braking, towing beyond vehicle capacity, or repeated emergency stops
  • Improper installation, modification, operation, or misuse — including failure to follow the supplied torque specifications, bedding-in procedure, and maintenance requirements; related damage (hot spots, warping, abnormal wear) is not covered
  • Unauthorized structural modifications — any modification of calipers, discs, or brackets/hats without TEi's written authorization (welding, cutting, drilling, machining discs below the minimum thickness, or non-standard machining of brackets) — voids the warranty on the affected parts and the entire kit
  • Accident or impact damage, deep-water immersion, or corrosive environments
  • Surface rust on the disc hat or unswept disc face (cosmetic, normal)
  • Damage from corrosive cleaners — do not use engine degreaser or alkaline cleaners on anodized parts
  • Labor, diagnosis, towing, and any costs arising from unauthorized disassembly or installation, including brake fluid and shipping costs beyond what is stated below
  • Products not purchased from teibrakes.com or an authorized TEI dealer

How to file a claim

You do not need to register your product. Claims must be reported within 30 days of discovering the issue.

  1. Contact us at hello@teibrakes.com with your order number, the kit's product set serial number and your VIN, the date the kit was installed, current mileage, and a description of the problem.
  2. Send photos or video of the issue. For any cracked-rotor claim, clear photos are required.
  3. We assess your claim within 3–5 business days and issue a return authorization if the part needs to come back for inspection.
  4. We ship the replacement part at our cost once the claim is approved. If we need the failed part returned for assessment, we provide a prepaid return label.
  5. If a returned part is found not to be defective, the return shipping cost is passed back to you.
