TR432 is the four-piston rear caliper kit TEI built for 1.5–3 tonne body-on-frame off-roaders: Prado, Land Cruiser LC120/LC150/LC152, FJ Cruiser, Lexus GX460, Fortuner and Hilux. It supersedes TA432 and keeps the one-piece rotor layout those rear axles need. Four progressively sized pistons give 32.27 cm² of piston area against 53.1 cm² of pad surface, inside a 2.7 kg forged 6082/T651 caliper with external dust covers and internal fluid routing that keeps the fluid path clear of rock and trail debris.

Fits 17-inch and larger wheels. Two-piece slotted rotors run 330x28mm (17"), 355x28mm (18"), 380x28mm (19") and 400x28mm (20") in GG20 high-carbon alloy with 72 cooling vanes and a patent anti-loosening hat. Prado, Land Cruiser and Pajero V93/V97 rear axles carry an oversized handbrake drum that will not clear a two-piece hat, so those take a dedicated one-piece rear rotor: Prado 345x28mm, Land Cruiser 365x28mm or 380x28mm, V93 345x28mm, V97 355x28mm. Kit includes caliper, rotor, brake pads and mounting hardware. Available in red, yellow, silver and black.

Floating vs. Fixed Calipers

See why a fixed multi-piston caliper delivers a more direct, linear pedal feel.

Floating caliperTypical OEM

A single piston acts on the inner pad. The caliper body then slides on its guide pins to bring the outer pad into contact.

Floating caliper animation The inner piston moves first, then the caliper body floats outward before the outer pad clamps. Rotor Hydraulic pressure PistonOuter pad Inner pad Caliper body floats 1. Piston pushes inner pad2. Body floats outward3. Outer pad clamps

Two sequential steps create dead travel and a slight delay in pedal feel.

Fixed multi-piston caliperTEI design

Pistons on both sides move directly and at the same time, clamping the rotor in one controlled step.

Fixed caliper animation Opposing pistons and pads move together to clamp the rotor simultaneously. Rotor PressurePressure Inner padOuter padFixed caliper body 1. Pressure builds2. Pistons move together3. One-step clamp

Clamping force F = P × S: hydraulic pressure multiplied by total piston area. The response is direct and linear.

New emblem. Better rotor.

Drag to compare

Rotor face
Slotted only was cross-drilled and slotted

No drill holes, so there is nowhere for a crack to start.

Material
G3500 high-carbon alloy, 3.85% carbon

Built for longer disc life.

Cooling
72 vent grooves, rated to 600 °C

More channels to move heat out of the disc, lap after lap.

Finish
Anti-rust black coating was bare metal

Resists rust, so the rotor looks right between sessions.
